We went hiking with Nena and pretty much the whole Louw Cousin Brigade to the waterfall behind island lake. At first we tried to get to the waterfall at Ebb n Flow, but the path has been closed due to flood damage.

The scenery was really pretty but suffering from the lack of rain. You could also see the flood damage from earlier in the year with huge piles of dead trees caught in the river’s path.

The waterfall at the end was still flowing but it’s far more spectacular after rains.

We stopped here for some lunch and a swim to the waterfall. Plus some crazy people enjoyed jumping off the high rocks and narrowly missing hidden underwater trees.

Above is Richard and Kyle, Nena and Marijke, and alongside here is most of the gand of cousins.

Below is Richard and me on the way back to the car. I’m very much looking forward to hiking this again after some good rain! With more sarmies. Yum!
