Phoning the hundreds of entries in the gumtree was starting to make us feel like we were never going to find a nice place. Eveything that looked half decent was always already gone by the time we called. So we caved in and decided to go with an estate agent to help us find a place.

I’m quite fussy when it comes to my living area (and it appears more so than Richard by a LONG way) so I had my doubts about finding a good place quickly. Ideally we wanted to move in before I started work but the first few places we saw made me think that an estate agent was going to be just as long a process as gumtree.

Two places had a great view of … the train tracks. One place had lifted laminate flooring. Once place had the smallest kitchen known to man. One place required that you climb over the toilet to get into the bath / shower thing. And Richard said, “yes, I could live here”. I was like… n oooo.

Then we went off to Collier’s Wood and found the place we’re in now. Great furnishings, awesome view, close to the tube and within our budget. So we signed the papers and moved in a few days later.

I have to point out to everyone the SUN ON THE WALLS!! Then we also look out over a nice green common which means I can be in touch with nature just a little bit. It sure beats looking out over train tracks…

The only challenge is what you see below. The grand total of our storage space. It’s a good thing I’m not into shoes.
